About

The Jinny Chalmers Fund for Education Justice was established to honor the life of Virginia “Jinny” Chalmers and to carry on her work as an educator, a mentor, a community leader, and a fierce advocate for racial justice and equity in education.

A Passion for Justice

The mission of the Jinny Chalmers Fund for Education Justice honors Jinny’s vision for racial justice and educational excellence. Our grants fund initiatives that carry on Jinny’s work and are making an impact in our communities.
